You must have seen author’s profile picture on search result when you make any search on google. It looks authentic and really great. So to make your published post more authentic, attractive and to prove authorship you need to show your profile picture in search result.
We can do it by using various way. The easiest way is using plugin. There are many plugins that will help you to do this. You can use Google Plus Authorship as well.
On this tutorial I will show you how you can do this manually.
First step: To show your profile picture in search result you need to have google plus profile. If you don’t have set up your google plus profile yet then set up a google plus profile. Now fill up all the required information. Upload a picture on your G+ profile. Your profile picture need to be minimum a squire one 250 pix X 250 pix or more. Now copy your profile ID from address bar.
Second step: Now you need to create an “About” page for your blog. If you already have an “About” page you just need to post your google plus profile URL.
Make sure that you have added “rel=author” on your G+ URL. The URL format you need to put is below:
Third step: Now you just need to add your author page URL on G+ profile. Login your google plus account, and click edit profile option. Now scroll down and you will get found “Contributor to” option. Now attach your “About” page link on “Contributor to” option.
Now all we have done for this setting. Just to be sure you can check out the current progress you can use this link. Enter your blog URL on the box and click preview option. If everything is quite well, then your profile picture will be shown on the preview result. If you can’t see your picture then there may have anything wrong and check it out again.
Usually it takes couple of days to appear your profile picture on search result. Your picture will not appear Until google will re-index the “About” page.
